UK Prime Minister Unveils Government Restructure and New Ministerial Outreach

The United Kingdom’s new prime minister has announced a wide‑ranging reshuffle of the machinery of government. Key elements include the creation of “No. 10 North” as a central hub for devolution and local economic growth, the establishment of an Office for the Prime Minister and Cabinet (OPMC) housing the new AI Taskforce and a prime‑ministerial adviser on artificial intelligence, and the launch of a OneGov Delivery Agency to manage shared services such as recruitment, pensions and security vetting.

At the same time, the British Association of Travel Agents (ABTA) said it will intensify its public‑affairs programme, contacting new ministers, arranging member visits and hosting a reception at the Labour Party conference. ABTA will continue its work on the Package Travel Regulations review, the Tourism Growth Strategy, the EU entry/exit system, decarbonisation, the proposed English visitor levy and UK‑EU relations.
