UK pub operators launch new charitable donation initiatives
UK pub operators are launching new charitable initiatives to support local communities. Proper Pubs, an Admiral Taverns division, has partnered with Carling for its ‘Heroes of Hunger’ campaign. Throughout September, 5p from every pint of Carling sold across its estate of over 200 pubs in England, Scotland, and Wales will be donated to local foodbanks to combat food poverty.
Separately, Marston’s is introducing a micro-donation scheme starting in October. Customers at more than 1,000 pubs will have the option to add a 20p donation to their bill. These funds, collected via the charity Pennies, will support Something To Look Forward To, a Cambridge-based charity that provides experiences and essential support to individuals and families affected by cancer. The scheme has the potential to raise over £250,000 annually.
