UK reports two serious road collisions with multiple injuries
A pedestrian was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital in critical condition after a tractor collided with him on Shelton New Road near Cliffe Vale, Stoke‑on‑Trent, prompting road closures between Brick Kiln Lane and the A500. West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance responded to the incident at around 8:22 am.
Later that day, a three‑vehicle crash on the A40 at Scethrog, Brecon, involved a BMW, a Mercedes and a Ford. Two passengers in the Mercedes were flown to hospital with life‑threatening injuries, while the driver of the Mercedes and the Ford suffered minor injuries. Police arrested the 18‑year‑old driver of the BMW on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
