UK residential projects secure regulatory approval for student and affordable housing
Major residential construction projects in Salford and West London have received Gateway 2 approval from the Building Safety Regulator, allowing work to proceed under the enhanced Building Safety Act framework.
In Salford, Bridgestone Construction, in a joint venture with Rotheo, will deliver the £30m Nexus House project. Located near Salford University, the development will provide 364 student beds. The project was shaped through collaboration with Salford City Council and the university's estates team.
In South Acton, West London, HG Construction has secured a £76m contract for the Bollo Yard development on behalf of Hurlington Capital. The scheme includes a 21-storey student tower providing 429 beds and a separate building containing 95 affordable homes. Ealing Council has agreed to a £29m deal to acquire the affordable units for social rent.
