UK road collisions injure several and force route closures

Two serious road collisions occurred in England within days of each other. In Benton, North Tyneside, a three‑vehicle crash on Station Road on 16 July left three people in hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries and briefly closed the road. Emergency services attended, patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary and other hospitals, and traffic was diverted until the scene was cleared.

A separate incident on the A3 southbound near Guildford on 17 July involved a single‑vehicle crash that prompted Surrey Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service to close the road overnight. A full diversion route was established, directing drivers onto local roads and the A31 until the collision site could be cleared.
