UK road incidents cause major delays on A55 and A19
A breakdown involving a heavy goods vehicle and a car near Colwyn Bay forced the eastbound closure of the Conwy tunnel on the A55 in North Wales. The incident created long tailbacks that stretched back to Penmaenmawr before the tunnel was reopened and traffic began to clear.
On the A19 in Teesside, a collision partially blocked the northbound carriageway near Wolviston. Witnesses reported a lorry striking a bridge, shedding part of its roof and leaving debris on the road. The blockage reduced speeds to around 10 mph and caused delays of eight to thirteen minutes while authorities investigated the crash.
