UK robotics hubs launched to support business automation
New regional robotics adoption hubs are being established in the United Kingdom to help businesses integrate automation and robotics technology. These initiatives are part of a national programme funded by Innovate UK.
In the Greater South West, a £9.8 million programme led by the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, in partnership with the University of Bristol, UWE Bristol, and NCC, will provide one-to-one advisory services. This hub aims to assist companies in identifying automation opportunities, assessing investment returns, and navigating the transition to robotic technologies.
In South Wales, the Robotics Adoption Hub will be based at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Swansea. This facility will allow businesses in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and utilities to test equipment and receive impartial technical advice before committing to significant capital investments. The hub will also facilitate staff training and connect companies with suppliers and financing options.
