UK runners organize charity events for diabetes and family support

Various groups in the United Kingdom are participating in upcoming running events to raise funds for local and national charities.

At the University of Worcester, members of the Arena team, including Jess Kearns, Brad Hunt, Shannon Hayes, Meg Lisle, and Jack Lambert, are set to compete in the Worcester 10K and Half Marathon on 13 September. They aim to raise £500 for Breakthrough T1D, a charity supporting those with Type 1 diabetes. The initiative is inspired by the personal experience of Jess Kearns, whose daughter was diagnosed with the condition at 10 months old.

In Shropshire, staff from the law firm Lanyon Bowdler and the care company Komplex are preparing for the Shrewsbury Half Marathon on 27 September. The runners—Helen Siegieda, Amy Burgoyne, Isabella Drummond, Taylor Hillman, Alex Paglia, and Molly Jones—are raising money for Little Stars, a charity that provides essential items and practical support to families and children in need across the region.
