UK schools report strong GCSE exam results

Students at Westfield Academy in Watford have achieved their best-ever GCSE maths results, with more than 70 per cent of students securing a grade four or above. Additionally, over 40 students attained grades between seven and nine across their core subjects.

Westfield Academy, which was rated ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted in November 2024, noted that the results reflect the hard work of students, families, and staff. The academy expects a majority of its Year 11 students to transition into the sixth form this September.

Bracknell and Wokingham College also reported strong GCSE outcomes, with over 96 per cent of students passing their maths and English exams. The college's English pass rate was 4.7 per cent above the national average, while maths was 1.7 per cent above.

The college, part of Activate Learning, saw 100 per cent pass rates in Biology, Business, and Sociology. The student body includes 16-19-year-olds, mature learners, and part-time students seeking to progress in their careers or further education.
