UK secondary school applications open for September 2027 intake

Secondary school application processes for the September 2027 intake have opened in parts of the United Kingdom.

In Hertfordshire, parents and carers can now submit online applications for secondary or upper school places, as well as university technical college placements. The application deadline is October 31, 2026. Local officials noted that over 94 per cent of children in the county were allocated one of their top four ranked schools in the previous cycle.

In Wrexham, applications for Year 7 entry at Ysgol Rhiwabon for September 2027 are also available through the Wrexham County Borough Council online system. The deadline for on-time applications is October 31, 2026. The council warned that late applications are processed only after all on-time applications have been considered, which may impact placement success for students living near the school.
