UK supermarkets issue food recalls over Listeria and E. coli concerns

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued several “do not eat” warnings following food safety alerts and product recalls at major UK retailers, including Tesco, Waitrose, and Home Bargains.

In Northern Ireland, Macroom Buffalo Cheese Products is recalling Mozzarella (125g) and Bocconcini (160g) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Both products carry a use-by date of September 7, 2026. Consumers are advised not to consume the cheese even if it appears or smells normal and should return it to the retailer for a full refund.

Additionally, a recall has been issued for a small number of filled wraps due to potential E. coli contamination identified during routine testing.
