UK retailers issue widespread food recalls over Listeria and other hazards

Marks & Spencer has withdrawn its Food Truffle Gouda cheese (150 g, product code 29424887, use‑by 9 Oct 2026) after tests detected Listeria monocytogenes. The retailer urges customers not to eat the cheese and to return it for a full refund; the recall applies to stores in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Tesco and Lidl have recalled several Irish ham products because of possible Listeria contamination. Affected items include Brady Family Crumb Irish Ham (80 g, batch 235880) and Deluxe Honey Roast/Triple Oak Smoked Carved Irish Ham (130 g, batches 235473 and 235461), all with a use‑by date of 16 July 2026. Shoppers are advised not to consume the ham and to return it for a refund.

Minton & Donello Organic White Orzo (500 g, batch 78850) is being recalled after it was found to contain wheat/gluten not listed on the label, posing a risk to consumers with wheat allergy or coeliac disease.

Primark has pulled three models of lead‑containing pepper mills made in India, and John Lewis has recalled door‑stops and draught excluders that may contain asbestos. Both retailers advise customers to stop using the items and to return them for a refund.

All recalls were announced by the UK Food Standards Agency and the Office for Product Safety and Standards, emphasizing the need for consumers to check product codes and dates and to avoid the items entirely.
