UK Supreme Court blocks sale of Botafogo SAF shares

The UK Supreme Court has issued an injunction preventing Eagle Bidco, managed by Cork Gully LLP, from selling, transferring, or altering control of Botafogo SAF shares. The ruling is intended to protect the club's assets while legal proceedings continue in Brazil.

Eagle Bidco currently holds 49% of the Botafogo SAF shares, with the remaining 51% held by the club's social association. For John Textor, the decision provides legal security and complicates a potential sale of the SAF to the GDA Luma group, which seeks to acquire 90% of the football operations.

While Textor views the injunction as a step toward reorganizing management and restoring stability, the Botafogo social club maintains that the measure reflects its own legal requests in Brazil to prevent the sale of shares to third parties.
