UK teacher sentenced to 25 years for abusing 18 minors
Sient Shahrear Ahmed, a 37-year-old mathematics teacher from Essex, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison following 56 sexual offenses against 18 girls, some as young as 13.
Over a four-year period, Ahmed used social media platforms including Snapchat, Wizz, and Yubo to approach victims. He created a fake online identity under the name “Miles,” using edited photographs to pose as a 17-year-old. He gained the trust of the minors by promising gifts, money, and romantic relationships, often exploiting their personal vulnerabilities.
Police investigations involved analyzing hundreds of gigabytes of digital evidence and thousands of photographs to uncover the scale of his crimes. The case came to light after a minor attempted to distance herself during a meeting after realizing the man was not a teenager. Judge Perins described the actions as a “continuous and calculated campaign” and noted Ahmed’s complete lack of remorse.
