UK universities and Rolls-Royce offer fully funded PhD scholarships

Several fully funded PhD scholarship opportunities are available in the United Kingdom for research in engineering, science, and technology.

Rolls-Royce is offering scholarships for 2027 to international students in fields such as manufacturing, materials science, sustainability, and computing. Successful applicants may receive full tuition coverage and a tax-free stipend of up to £25,518 per year for up to four years.

Additionally, the University of Warwick and the University of Leeds have upcoming deadlines for doctoral positions starting in 2027. The University of Warwick, through the Warwick Manufacturing Group and in partnership with Tata Steel UK, is offering a studentship focused on nitrogen behavior in Electric Arc Furnace steelmaking. This project covers full tuition and a UKRI-rate tax-free stipend for four years.

The University of Leeds is offering a position in its School of Computer Science focused on mixed-precision methods for numerical linear algebra at exascale. This scholarship includes full academic fee coverage and a tax-free maintenance grant of £21,805 per year for 3.5 years.
