UK universities announce fully funded scholarship opportunities for 2027

Several fully funded scholarship opportunities for international students in the United Kingdom have been announced for the 2027 academic cycle.

Loughborough University is offering the Commonwealth PhD Scholarship, which is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. This three-year program is designed for high-caliber candidates from developing regions to pursue doctoral research at either the Loughborough or London campuses. The application deadline is October 20, 2026, with intakes available in October 2027, February 2028, and July 2028.

Additionally, the Gates Cambridge Scholarship is accepting applications for Masters, MLitt, and PhD programs at Cambridge University. This program is open to international students from outside the United Kingdom who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to improving the lives of others. The scholarship provides access to the university's academic resources to support future leaders across various fields including science, arts, and technology.
