UK citizens show widespread support for rejoining the European Union

A YouGov poll commissioned by the civil society organization Best for Britain indicates widespread support for the United Kingdom to rejoin the European Union. The survey, which included 11,927 participants, found that 35% of respondents believe the UK government should propose rejoining the EU.

On a constituency level, the data shows that 628 out of 632 constituencies in England, Wales, and Scotland favor full EU membership as the preferred method for strengthening ties. The only exceptions are four constituencies represented by the Reform UK party.

Other options received significantly less support: 18% favor the current approach of closer ties without formal membership, 11% want to further loosen ties, 6% support rejoining the Single Market, and 5% support rejoining the Customs Union. Support for rejoining varies by political affiliation, with 67% of Green Party supporters, 56% of Liberal Democrats, and 55% of Labour Party supporters favoring membership, compared to 20% of Conservative Party supporters.
