UK voters seek closer EU ties while Lithuania calls for stronger EU airspace security
A recent Politico poll reveals that 70% of British voters desire a closer relationship with the European Union. However, only 39% of respondents are willing to accept the necessity of following EU regulations to achieve this cooperation. Approximately 31% of those surveyed support a closer relationship provided it does not involve adhering to EU norms.
In a separate development regarding European security, Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius has called for the strengthening of EU airspace security, particularly along the Eastern Flank. Citing hybrid attacks linked to Russia, Sinkevičius emphasized the need for increased funding for border protection and strategic infrastructure, such as Rail Baltica and Via Baltica, within the 2028–2034 EU financial period.
