uka promotes recycling project for Kenzan scalp brushes
Total beauty company uka is promoting a recycling project for its Kenzan scalp brush to mark the product's 10th anniversary. The initiative aims to create a circular manufacturing model by collecting used brushes to be repurposed into new ones.
While the company has collected approximately 19,000 units since the project's inception, the current collection rate is only 0.6% of the estimated 2.83 million units in circulation. uka encourages users to recycle their brushes as they are considered consumables; over time, the tips become rounded, reducing their effectiveness for scalp massage and cleaning.
To support this milestone, uka has launched a special commemorative website featuring a trade-in campaign, a hardness diagnostic tool to help users select the right brush, and limited-edition sets combining the Kenzan brush with botanical products.
