UKC Ljubljana director Marko Jug offers resignation
Marko Jug, the general director of UKC Ljubljana, has offered his resignation to the institution's council. Jug stated that his decision was made to ensure the hospital can function normally and to allow the council to fully exercise its responsibilities. He noted that the recent changes in the council's composition served as a clear signal for this move.
Matjaž Trontelj, the newly elected president of the council, expressed respect for Jug's decision, describing it as setting an ‘ethical standard’. Due to the absence of two council members during the initial meeting, a follow-up session has been scheduled for Tuesday to formally address the resignation. It remains unknown who will lead Slovenia's largest hospital in the interim.
