UKC Maribor Director Vojko Flis resigns over emergency center issues

Vojko Flis has announced his resignation as the director of the University Clinical Center (UKC) Maribor. Flis cited organizational difficulties within the hospital's emergency center as the primary reason for his departure.

According to Flis, more than 30 percent of the 39 emergency medicine specialists at the facility are employed on a part-time basis. He explained that this arrangement was originally implemented by a previous director to prevent medical staff from leaving the institution. However, Flis stated that this high level of part-time employment has made effective work organization in the emergency center impossible, and he is taking responsibility for the situation.

This resignation follows the departure of Gregor Prosen, the head of the UKC Maribor emergency center, who stepped down two weeks earlier.
