Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition in Hiroshima surpasses 30,000 visitors
The ‘Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition HIROSHIMA’ has surpassed 30,000 visitors at the NTT Credo Hall. To mark the milestone, a commemorative ceremony was held for the 30,000th visitor, a group from within Hiroshima Prefecture.
The exhibition is a digital art museum that uses 3DCG animation and projection mapping to reinterpret over 300 works by famous Edo-period artists, including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, and Utagawa Kuniyoshi. It aims to provide an immersive experience where viewers feel as though they are stepping into the world of ukiyoe.
The exhibition is scheduled to run until September 6, 2026. It has previously toured cities such as Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka, and has held international showings in Milan, Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Paris.
