Ukraine accelerates production of domestic Equalizer glide bomb

Ukraine is accelerating the production of the ‘Equalizer’ (also known as ‘Vyrivniuvach’), a domestically developed aerial glide bomb designed to reduce the nation's dependence on Western military aid.

Developed by DG Industry with support from the defense incubator Brave1, the weapon converts standard unguided bombs into precision standoff munitions using guidance kits and pop-out wings. The system has completed all required trials and is declared ready for combat deployment.

Unlike some foreign alternatives that utilize rocket boosters or engines, the Equalizer is a motorless weapon that relies on aerodynamics and inertia for flight. It features a 250 kg warhead and is capable of striking targets dozens of kilometers behind enemy lines. This development aims to provide the Ukrainian Air Force with a more secure supply chain and greater strategic autonomy, bypassing potential restrictions or uncertainties regarding international donations such as the U.S. JDAM-ER or French AASM-250 Hammer.
