Ukraine and Morocco seek to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed gratitude to Morocco's King Mohammed VI following a message of goodwill sent by the monarch for Ukraine's national holiday. The exchange highlights a desire to expand bilateral cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.

Ukraine has demonstrated support for Morocco regarding the Sahara issue, specifically supporting the autonomy plan. In return, Morocco has provided humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian civilians affected by the ongoing conflict. Both nations are looking to strengthen economic ties, with Ukraine aiming to utilize Morocco as a logistical hub for grain exports to Africa to bolster international food security.

Diplomatic discussions also emphasized mutual respect for national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law, specifically regarding United Nations resolutions. The two administrations expressed interest in exploring further cooperation in education, technology, and technical fields as regional stability allows.
