Ukraine and Russia exchange drone strikes on civilian and energy targets

A wave of drone strikes has escalated the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, targeting both civilian areas and critical energy infrastructure. In the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, a Russian drone attack on the village of Lebiashe killed two women, aged 66 and 73, and injured two others, while causing fires and destroying several homes.

Simultaneously, Ukraine launched retaliatory strikes against Russian industrial targets. Long-range drones struck the Lukoil-Permenefteorgsintez refinery in the Perm region and the TANECO refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. The strike on the TANECO facility, reportedly carried out using Ukrainian-made FP-1 drones, targeted one of Russia’s largest refining complexes.

In Crimea, overnight explosions in Simferopol and Sevastopol, alongside strikes on energy infrastructure, left several settlements without electricity. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted 325 Ukrainian drones across various regions and Crimea. These ongoing strikes on petroleum and electrical facilities continue to impact Russia's domestic fuel supply and economic stability.
