Kryvyi Rih shopping center drone attack kills 16 and injures 130
A Russian drone attack on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih has killed at least 16 people and injured approximately 130 others, including 23 children. The assault utilized a 'double-tap' tactic, where a second wave of drones struck the location roughly 30 minutes after the initial impact, specifically targeting emergency responders and medical personnel on the scene.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike as a 'terrorist act' and a 'cynical and cowardly' blow against civilians. Regional authorities reported that 29 of the injured are in critical condition. Search and rescue operations continue as several people remain missing.
In separate incidents, Russian strikes hit other parts of Ukraine. A ballistic missile strike in Kyiv caused a warehouse fire in the Darnytskyi district, resulting in at least one death. In the Mykolaiv region, a drone attack killed four people, including three children. Additionally, a drone strike in Zaporizhzhia killed one man and injured four others.
In response to the escalating aerial campaign, Ukraine has intensified its own drone strikes against Russian infrastructure, including oil refineries and logistics hubs. President Zelenskyy and Ukrainian officials have issued urgent calls to international allies for increased military assistance, specifically requesting more Patriot air defense interceptors to counter ballistic missile threats.
