Ukraine faces corruption probes and intensified Russian drone strikes

Anti-corruption investigations in Ukraine have intensified following a search by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) involving Iryna Mudra, the former deputy head of the President's Office. Leaked recordings allegedly feature Mudra discussing the need to systematize and control corruption rather than fight it. In response to the investigation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Mudra from her position.

In the ongoing conflict, Russia launched a massive aerial assault on Ukraine using 128 drones, including Shahed and Gerbera models. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 106 drones, though strikes hit port infrastructure in the Odesa region and damaged a civilian vessel flying the flag of Togo.

During the strikes, an unidentified drone entered Moldovan airspace and crashed near the settlement of Talmaza, causing a loud explosion. Moldovan President Maia Sandu condemned the violation, stating that some drones appeared to have entered Moldovan airspace intentionally rather than by accident.
