President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Ukraine has received a small number of Patriot interceptor missiles, Crotale air defense systems, and AIM missiles. While these deliveries provide temporary relief, Zelensky emphasized that the country urgently requires at least 300 additional Patriot missiles to defend against Russian ballistic missile attacks before the winter season.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine currently possesses only about 1 percent of the American missile reserves necessary to survive the winter, whereas the country needs 5 percent to meet its defense requirements. This shortage is exacerbated by a production gap; experts indicate that Russia produces approximately 1,440 ballistic missiles annually, while Western production of Patriot missiles is estimated at 600 to 650 units per year.

In terms of long-range capabilities, Zelensky announced that the United Kingdom and France have granted permissions for Ukraine to begin local production of SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles. Additionally, Norway has committed $9 billion in support for Ukraine for the year 2027. Ukraine also expects further details regarding the FREYJA initiative within the next week.
