Poland proposes joint Patriot missile production with the United States and Ukraine

Polish Deputy Minister of Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak‑Czarnecka told U.S. officials in Washington that Poland is ready to host a joint production line for Patriot air‑defence missiles. The proposal envisions a three‑way partnership between Poland, the United States and Ukraine, with the factories located on Polish territory to ensure a “safe location” away from Russian missile strikes. Sobkowiak‑Czarnecka also argued that Poland could host a European service centre for the PAC‑3 MSE missiles, citing the country’s growing defence‑industry capacity and its strategic geographic position.

In the same visit, the deputy minister discussed the establishment of a permanent U.S. military base in Poland. The United States has created a dedicated team, led by Pentagon Vice‑Chief Elbridge Colby, to work on the base project, while Poland has a corresponding team in its Ministry of Defence and is preparing a draft law and financing plan. Final decisions on both the missile‑production project and the base will rest with the U.S. president, but the Polish government aims to have its proposals well‑received in Washington.
