Ukraine Gains New Counter‑Drone Capabilities from NATO and Britain

NATO has opened the UNITE‑Brave program, a joint initiative with Ukraine to solicit proposals for counter‑drone and air‑defence technologies. The programme was officially launched on July 28, 2026, marking the first call for responses under the initiative.

In a related development, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky aboard the HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth. Burnham announced that the United Kingdom will share information on a battle‑tested electronic‑jamming system called “Stone Cloak”, intended to protect Ukrainian drones from hostile targeting. The pledge underscores deeper NATO and UK support for Ukraine’s aerial warfare capabilities.
