Ukraine grain exports paralyzed by Russian attacks on Odesa ports

Escalating Russian attacks on the ports of Odesa have severely disrupted Ukrainian grain exports, leaving massive quantities of this year's harvest without buyers or storage space. Under normal conditions, approximately 90% of the country's grain exports pass through this region, which is critical to an agricultural sector that accounts for more than half of Ukraine's total export revenue.

The disruption comes at a critical time during the peak harvest season. Farmers face significant financial risks, with potential losses estimated at up to $2.5 billion this year. The crisis threatens to cause widespread bankruptcies among producers who have already struggled to recover from previous wartime damages and landmines.
