Ukraine intelligence warns Russia has resources for prolonged war

Oleh Ivaschenko, head of Ukrainian military intelligence, stated that Russia possesses sufficient resources to continue its war against Ukraine through 2027 or 2028. Ivaschenko noted that while the Russian model of contract-based recruitment is nearing exhaustion due to economic pressures and high casualties, Moscow maintains significant capacity. He estimated daily Russian losses—including killed and seriously wounded—at between 1,200 and 1,400 personnel, occasionally reaching 1,500.

On the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian forces conducted drone strikes against three Russian oil refineries in the Ryazan, Perm, and Tatarstan regions. Additionally, Ukraine targeted a railway bridge and drone storage facilities in the Kursk region.

Conversely, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that approximately 1,700 Ukrainian soldiers were encircled in the Kharkiv region and reported intercepting nearly 500 Ukrainian drones. Russia also reported strikes against a logistics complex in the port of Izmail and a Ukrainian patrol vessel in the Black Sea.
