Ukraine issues warrants for 130 protesters after Kyiv detention center clash
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has issued approximately 130 warrants for individuals involved in protests outside a National Guard facility in Petropavlovskaya Borshchagovka, near Kyiv. The unrest followed social media allegations that a private house was being used as a torture site to hold military personnel against their will.
Investigators suggest the disturbances may have been organized to facilitate the kidnapping of a National Guard member who had left his unit without permission. While the Azov unit acknowledged operating the site, they denied allegations of torture. During the confrontation, protesters reportedly damaged a perimeter wall and clashed with security forces, who responded with warning shots and tear gas.
The National Police stated that 27 people allegedly took part in illegal actions, while 24 others were identified as behaving aggressively. Among those detained is a woman who arrived in an ambulance claiming to be a medical professional; however, investigations into her credentials and the vehicle used are ongoing.
