Ukraine lags behind Russia in drone race, defense advisor admits

Sergei Beskresnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, has stated that Ukraine is currently lagging behind Russia in the drone race.

Beskresnov noted that Ukrainian manufacturers have struggled to produce effective jet-powered interceptor drones designed to counter Russian ‘Geran’ and ‘Banderol’ missiles. Despite promises made during the winter that such interceptors would be available within weeks, the technical challenges proved more difficult than anticipated. Beskresnov remarked that several months have passed and the country still does not have a single functional unit.
