Ukraine launches hundreds of drones at Moscow following Trump-Putin diesel deal

Ukraine launched a massive drone attack against the Moscow region, with 403 unmanned aerial vehicles detected flying toward the area between the night of October 9 and the morning of October 10. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that air defenses intercepted most drones at a distance, while 25 others were destroyed near the city.

The escalation follows a telephone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the call, Putin reportedly agreed to supply hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel fuel to U.S. and global markets. Trump described the outcome as ‘an important agreement’ and noted that Putin promised an immediate delivery of over 300,000 tons, followed by 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons thereafter.

In addition to the strikes near Moscow, Ukrainian drones targeted the Rostov province, damaging a railway bridge and residential buildings. Previous strikes also hit an industrial node in Omsk, Siberia.
