Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps launches Operation Vivaldi in Donbas
The Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps has launched a counteroffensive known as Operation Vivaldi in the Donbas region. According to Brigadier General Andrii Biletsky, the operation has successfully liberated over 10 square kilometers of territory and cleared approximately 75 square kilometers of land previously infiltrated by Russian units.
The offensive is concentrated north of Lyman and aims to reduce a Russian salient that is roughly 15 kilometers wide. By targeting this area, Ukrainian forces seek to alleviate pressure on the key cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. The operation has also resulted in the full liberation of the village of Serednie and targeted Russian logistics in areas including Novoselivka, Iarova, Korove Iaru, and Oleksandrivka.
Military analysts note a shift in Russian tactics in the Donbas, where forces are increasingly relying on small infantry infiltration groups supported by aviation rather than large-scale mechanized assaults to expand the 'grey zone' between positions.
