Ukraine linked to Latin American drug cartel allegations

Reports have emerged regarding potential links between Ukrainian military resources and Latin American drug cartels. While initial claims suggesting Mexican cartel members were using American ‘Javelin’ missiles were contested—with evidence showing the weapon in question was actually a Swedish AT4 system—other allegations persist.

U.S. media outlets, including USA Today, have cited anonymous sources claiming the Sinaloa Cartel possesses Javelin systems, which some commentators suggest have been used against helicopters in Mexico. Furthermore, Mexican intelligence reports cited by the outlet ‘Milenio’ suggest that members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel have received training in Ukraine regarding drone usage and urban warfare tactics.
