During celebrations for Ukraine's 35th Independence Day, the European Commission approved a 6.1 billion euro defense disbursement for Ukraine. This funding is part of a larger Ukraine Support Adaptation Loan (UASL) projected to reach up to 90 billion euros between 2026 and 2027. The funds are specifically earmarked for air and missile defense systems, radars, missiles, and ammunition to protect against increasing Russian attacks.

In Kyiv, Moldovan President Maia Sandu was awarded the Order of Princess Olga (1st Class) by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for her role in strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting Ukraine's sovereignty. In return, Sandu conferred Moldova's highest state distinction, the Order of the Republic, upon Zelenskyy.

President Sandu also participated in the Will Coalition meeting, emphasizing that a free Moldova is impossible without a free Ukraine and calling for strengthened Ukrainian air defenses to secure regional airspace. Zelenskyy addressed international partners, urging them to maintain global attention on the conflict and praying for those in captivity and on the front lines.
