Ukraine may strike Russia with domestic ballistic missiles within months

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that Ukraine could be capable of striking Russia with domestically produced ballistic missiles within three to six months. Currently, Kyiv relies heavily on long-range drones and cruise missiles for deep strikes, which Fedorov noted are slower and more susceptible to interception than ballistic technology.

Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point reportedly conducted a ballistic missile test in June. Fedorov emphasized the necessity of outperforming Russia in every technological cycle, though he acknowledged that Russian innovation is also advancing rapidly.

In recent combat developments, Ukraine launched a massive drone attack targeting a missile fuel production facility in Russia’s Rostov region. Separately, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine used new domestically produced Flamingo missiles to strike a Russian space agency facility in Samara.
