Ukraine National Bank raided by anti-corruption authorities
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) conducted searches at the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and the residence of an official. The raids, which included the office of NBU Governor Andrii Pyshnyi, were part of ongoing investigations into alleged money laundering and illegal property seizures.
The investigations, referred to as ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Themis’, involve suspected criminal schemes linked to Sense Bank. Investigators are looking into allegations that funds were used to provide bail for a former minister and that the appointment of Sense Bank’s leadership may have been improperly influenced.
Governor Pyshnyi, who was reportedly in Bangkok at the time of the raids, stated that the investigations concern other individuals and do not affect his personal conduct or the bank’s daily operations. The NBU confirmed the presence of investigators but maintained that the institution continues to operate normally.
