Ukraine, Norway, and Canada discuss repatriation of citizens

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held trilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Norway and Canada to prepare for an upcoming international conference in Canada. The discussions focused on the repatriation and rehabilitation of Ukrainian children, detained citizens, and prisoners of war.

Sybiha emphasized that beyond the return of these individuals, international support is necessary to help them reintegrate into society and rebuild their lives. He also called for targeted sanctions against those responsible for these actions to ensure accountability.

Additionally, the ministers addressed the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses following recent Russian ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv. The group also discussed the deteriorating security situation in the Black Sea, noting that attacks on Ukrainian ports and civilian vessels threaten maritime freedom, the Ukrainian economy, and global food security.
