Ukraine President Zelenskyy thanks India's President Murmu
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Indian President Droupadi Murmu for her congratulatory message on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
In a social media post, Zelenskyy emphasized that the primary aspiration of millions of Ukrainians is an honorable end to the ongoing war with Russia. He called for the international community to unite in establishing a path toward peace. Zelenskyy also reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to strengthening bilateral dialogue and cooperation with India based on mutual interests.
During the independence celebrations, Zelenskyy conferred state honors upon various military personnel and civilians. These honors included posthumous awards for individuals killed by Russian forces, such as Junior Lieutenant Nazari Grintsevych, Oleksiy Yukov, and student Stepan Chubenko. Other honorees included shooting champion Olena Kostevych and several other prominent citizens.
