Ukraine raspberry imports to Poland see significant growth

Imports of frozen raspberries from Ukraine to Poland have seen significant growth. In 2025, Poland imported 27,500 tons of frozen raspberries valued at approximately 412.9 million PLN, a 35 percent increase from the previous year.

This upward trend has continued into 2026. Between January and May, imports reached 6,790 tons with a value of 119.5 million PLN, representing a 68.2 percent year-on-year increase in value. This sector saw the strongest growth among all frozen fruit categories.

Industry representatives, including Witold Boguta of the National Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers Groups, have noted that the increase may be linked to lower quality Ukrainian crops due to weather conditions, leading some products originally intended for Western European markets to be diverted to Poland. There are concerns within the Polish agricultural sector that this rising import volume could impact the profitability and stability of domestic raspberry production.
