Ukraine receives Crotale air defense systems and missiles

President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed the delivery of several Crotale air defense systems and missiles to Ukraine. While Zelensky declined to specify the donor nation, the Crotale system is manufactured by the French company Thales.

The Crotale is designed to target low-altitude aerial threats between 15 meters and 6 kilometers, with a range of up to 10 kilometers. It is capable of detecting 30 targets simultaneously and can engage four at once. The system is noted for its effectiveness in scenarios where Patriot or NASAMS systems may be less efficient, particularly against low-flying targets like Shahed drones.

In addition to the Crotale systems, Ukraine has received new Patriot air defense missiles, AIM missiles, and associated munitions. Zelensky noted that the AIM missiles are being used to neutralize Russian projectiles.
