Ukraine receives Patriot missiles and secures European air defense aid
Ukraine has received a small number of U.S.-made Patriot missiles, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The country has also received confirmation regarding future deliveries of the French ‘Crotale’ anti-missile defense system.
In a joint effort, Italy and France have agreed to supply Ukraine with four SAMP/T air defense systems and Aster 30 missiles. The Italian military aid package, expected to be adopted in October, will also include Kronos radars and SAMP/T components. This operation is estimated to cost three billion euros and will be structured through credit financing from the European Credit Fund for Ukraine.
European leaders, including those from the United Kingdom and France, have pledged increased support, including access to sensitive technologies and faster delivery of air defense munitions. Additionally, Estonian President Alar Karis stated that Estonia is utilizing diplomatic means to strengthen Ukraine's defenses against Russian ballistic missiles.
