Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in Gdańsk Secures Billions in EU Funding

Ukraine will host the Gdańsk 2026 Reconstruction Conference, where Prime Minister Julija Szviridenko said more than 160 agreements are expected, with a total value that could reach €10 billion. The conference brings together Ukrainian businesses, state‑owned firms, community leaders, government officials and Polish representatives to strengthen cooperation on post‑war rebuilding.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Ukraine will receive the first €3.2 billion installment of a €90 billion EU loan program, with a further €6 billion earmarked for drone‑production support. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz highlighted the importance of the event for Polish‑Ukrainian relations, noting President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision not to attend.

The conference aims to channel new public and private resources into Ukraine's reconstruction, covering defence capacity, energy‑infrastructure restoration and economic stability.
