Ukraine reconstruction conference secures over €10 billion in aid

The Ukraine Reconstruction Conference took place in Gdańsk, Poland, on 26‑27 June 2026, drawing about 7,500 participants, including 70 national delegations and 30 international organisations. Delegates signed roughly 200 agreements, pledging more than €10 billion for rebuilding the war‑torn country.

Key financial commitments include a $3.4 billion World Bank reconstruction package, a €3.2 billion tranche from the European Union as part of a €90 billion loan programme, and a £1 billion guarantee from the United Kingdom for a World Bank loan. Additional support comprises a €140 million housing fund for displaced persons and €6 billion earmarked for Ukrainian drone production.

While reconstruction talks progressed, fighting continued on the ground. Russian forces launched 129 long‑range drones against Ukrainian territory, with Ukraine reporting 7 civilian deaths and dozens injured that day. Both sides also carried out a 160‑for‑160 prisoner exchange, and Ukraine targeted Russian energy infrastructure, including a oil‑pumping station in the Vtorovo region.
