Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk secures billions for reconstruction

The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) was held on 25‑26 June in Gdańsk, Poland, bringing together representatives from the European Union, NATO, the G7, and Ukrainian and Polish officials. A panel focused on rebuilding Ukraine’s prosecution service featured Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for EU and NATO integration Taras Kaczka, Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksandr Klymenko, and Poland’s Deputy Prosecutor General Jacek Bilewicz, among others.

Participants announced a €90 billion loan programme for Kyiv and signed 160 agreements worth over ₴10 billion. Additional commitments included promises of up to €100 billion in future support, conditioned more strongly on Ukraine’s reform progress. The conference highlighted both the continued financial backing for Ukraine’s reconstruction and the political cooperation despite lingering historical disputes between Poland and Ukraine.
