Ukraine reports 197 Russian assaults amid heavy fighting on Pokrovsk axis

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues with intense combat activity reported across multiple fronts. On September 21, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian forces launched 197 combat engagements, supported by 50 airstrikes, 168 guided aerial bombs, and over 6,000 kamikaze drones.

Heavy fighting is concentrated along the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka axes. In other sectors, including Kupiansk, Lyman, and Sloviansk, Ukrainian forces repelled various Russian attempts to advance toward key logistical routes and settlements. While the northern and Kursk axes saw no major offensive operations on Monday, these areas remain subject to frequent aerial and artillery barrages.

Cumulative data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense tracks significant Russian combat losses since February 2022, including over 1.5 million personnel, 12,364 tanks, and 50,184 artillery systems. Recent weekly reports also indicate the destruction of Russian S-400 and Buk-M3 air defense systems.
