Ukraine reports F-16 combat successes and discusses fleet upgrades

The Ukrainian Air Force has released combat data regarding its F-16 fighter jets, reporting that the aircraft have intercepted more than 3,150 aerial targets. According to figures provided by Lieutenant General Anatoliy Krivonozhko, these interceptions include 666 cruise missiles and approximately 2,500 various types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Additionally, the F-16s have conducted over 650 strikes against ground targets.

Ukrainian officials met with representatives from Lockheed Martin to discuss the combat experience of the fleet, available armament, and the potential development of the Ukrainian air force. Discussions included the possibility of transitioning to the more advanced F-16 Block 70/72 models. While the current fleet is being used effectively for airspace protection against missiles and drones, officials noted that limited stocks of air-to-air missiles influence tactical decisions and interception methods.
