Ukraine reports Russian cyber disinformation and espionage efforts
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has issued warnings regarding intensified Russian intelligence operations targeting Ukraine's information space and physical infrastructure.
In a digital campaign, Russian operatives are reportedly cloning official Ukrainian government websites and domestic media outlets. These fraudulent platforms use official logos and government seals to mimic legitimate state channels. The SBU characterizes these as coordinated information-psychological operations intended to destabilize Ukraine's socio-political situation, manipulate public opinion, and gather intelligence through deceptive domains.
Simultaneously, the SBU has apprehended an individual in the Lviv region accused of collaborating with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). The suspect, reportedly recruited via Telegram, allegedly attempted to provide precise locations of a drone manufacturing facility in western Ukraine to assist in a planned Russian missile strike. The individual faces charges of high treason under wartime conditions.
